In August 1957, a generation of pioneers from xiaoliangshan education territory set up the first junior high school in Ninglang's education history, named Ninglang Middle School, at sanjianshu Village in the northern suburb of the county seat. The birth of Ninglang Middle School, the predecessor of Ninglang Middle School, marks the beginning of primary education in Xiaoliangshan. In 1961, Ninglang Middle School moved to its current location to meet the needs of the school, and was upgraded to full middle school in 1972, renamed No.1 Middle School of Ninglang Yi Autonomous County. In May 1978, Ninglang No.1 Middle School was established as a county key middle school. In 1995, the school was rated as the "Second-level Complete Middle school of Yunnan Province", and in 2003, it entered the ranks of the "First-level complete middle school of Yunnan Province". In the same year, in order to adapt to the new educational situation, the middle school stopped enrollment. In 2005, the last class of junior high school graduates graduated with the highest grade in the city, marking a satisfactory end to the school's history. Teaching conditions
In the more than 50 years since its founding, and especially since the reform and opening-up, Ninglang No. 1 Middle School has grown rapidly under the friendly care of party committees and governments at all levels: conditions are improving, schools are expanding, and the level of schooling has risen significantly. Especially since the "11·19" earthquake in 1998, the school has been listed as a key unit of rehabilitation and reconstruction. Ninglang No.1 Middle School is divided into eastern and western halls, covering an area of 63.46 mu and 16,463.09 square meters of school buildings.
