The Tibetan-language Middle School of Ruoergai, Aba Prefecture is a full-time Tibetan-language middle school, located in The political, economic and cultural center of Ruoergai County - Daza Temple Town. The school covers an area of 33300 square meters, with "solar energy" teaching building, multi-functional canteen, complex building and multimedia classroom, science, biological laboratory and other teaching facilities and equipment. The reading room contains 11571 volumes. In 2009, the school has 1,419 registered students, 24 classes, and 77 teaching staff. The educational attainment rate of full-time teachers reaches 100%, including 2 senior teachers and 19 first-level teachers.
The school was founded in hongxing Township, Ruoergai County in 1960 by Luo Rongema, a famous Tibetan scholar, senior animal husbandry veterinarian, national model worker and national advanced worker. In 1981, with the approval of the People's Government of Aba Prefecture, it was officially named "Ruoergai Tibetan Middle School", and became the first ordinary middle school in China to teach the main courses entirely in The Tibetan language. In 1988, with the approval of the Education Commission of Sichuan Province, the Tibetan Junior High School was established as a tibetan-language middle school.
Since its establishment, the school has cultivated more than 10,000 students who understand both culture and technology from 11 counties (except MAO County and Wenchuan) and surrounding provinces and regions. In particular, since the establishment of senior high school, nearly 2,000 qualified students have been sent to colleges and universities such as Central Minda university, Xizang University, Southwest Minda University, Northwest Minda University, Qinghai Normal University, Qinghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xizang Medical College, Sichuan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Aba Normal College and Kangding Normal College. In particular, 51 students from the graduating class of high school in 2005 participated in the first bilingual college entrance examination in Sichuan province and Chinese Proficiency Test (MHK) for Ethnic Minorities. 36 students went to the undergraduate level and 15 to the junior college level. The graduation rate was 100%, which was in a leading position among similar schools in Sichuan. In the 2007 examination for junior high School graduation and Senior high school in Aba Prefecture, the school achieved excellent results, with three students ranked first, second and third in the whole prefecture. Zhuoma Ji of Aba Junior High School won the first place with 666 points in the 2009 graduation examination and unified examination for senior high school. Darrell finished second in the state with 629 points. Zhuo Matso won the third place in the state with 622 points. It has 30 students in the state's top 50. These achievements have been made thanks to the strong support of leaders at all levels and the unremitting efforts of all Tibetans and Chinese.
